Phantom Blade Zero endings: what to finish before Leng Tu

The key point

The ending locks when the fight with Leng Tu begins. For Final Battle, complete Secrets at the Heart of the Lake (including the later Inanis conversation) and win all five Lóng Pillar trials. Completing the lake quest without all pillar wins leads to Lóng’s Roar; leaving it incomplete leads to Annihilation.

Pre-fight checklist

  • Finish the lake quest before the Leng Tu fight. It includes Dusk, four Acolytes, the mirror realm and Puppet No. 99’s ritual; see the linked quest guide.
  • After the ritual, speak with Inanis in the Realm of Mirage. Do not treat the ritual victory as the final step.
  • For Final Battle, verify that all five Bloodline Awakening pillar wins are counted. The reports identify The Gold-Masked One as the pillar opponent.
  • PC Gamer speculates that Quickhand’s Requests may also be required but says it has not seen corroboration; this guide does not list them as a confirmed condition.

Cutoff and evidence

The hard cutoff reported by both guides is the start of the Leng Tu battle. A warning near the Mirage Estate bridge can signal unfinished work, so check before proceeding.
