The key point

Meet Myst, recover the head, strings and backplate, then return for a Phantom Edge that removes a barrier in Meigu Lake.

Getting started

PC Gamer reports that Myst, who can repair the instrument, is found at the Order's underground tavern in Pangzhen. Collecting its three parts requires progress through several regions. The repaired Illusory Pipa is also a Phantom Edge that removes certain barriers.

The three parts

  • Head: collect Firefly's Memory Flowers in Village of Lu, open the Temple of Blue Fireflies barrier and defeat the hidden boss Dusk.
  • Strings: reach the sunken opera house in southern Meigu Lake, collect Yan'er's Memory Flowers and defeat Yan Qiansui.
  • Backplate: obtain the key for Mandate Encampment, progress through it and defeat its final boss; the report places the part on a table just beyond the fight.

Repair and obstacles

Return all three parts to Myst in Pangzhen and choose the repair dialogue. The instrument can then unseal a barrier in northeastern Meigu Lake. If a route remains closed, check regional progress and the relevant Memory Flowers. We have not personally tested the exact key location or every battle prerequisite.
