Flaming Mane: where to get and restore it

Quick answer

Defeat Flame, the Lion Dance Grandmaster, in Pangzhen’s The Heart’s Trail to obtain Dormant Flaming Mane. Bring it to Lei Dang at Jingyang Hall; only after he restores it do you have the usable Flaming Mane Phantom Edge.

Unlock steps

• Advance Pangzhen’s main story until you enter the Lion Dance Hall, then defeat Flame.
• Check your inventory for Dormant Flaming Mane; it cannot burn vines before restoration.
• Go to Jingyang Hall in central Pangzhen and ask Lei Dang to repair the item.
• Use the restored Phantom Edge on vine barriers. This field ability is tied to several optional routes and quest objectives.

Common mix-up and evidence

The boss reward is the dormant item, not an immediately usable Phantom Edge. The Epic Games Store guide, AllThingsHow and PC Gamer support the reward/repair sequence and vine-burning use. Inputs, resource cost and every barrier location should be checked against in-game prompts. This site has not play-tested the route.
