The key point

After the map tutorial appears, press M, track a quest and use Mind’s Eye to locate objectives; hidden climbs still require exploring the terrain.

Quick answer and unlock condition

After the prologue, wait for the Open Map tutorial in the gorge below the waterfall, then press M on PC. The map is unavailable in the prologue; use the tutorial prompt rather than a chapter number to check access.

Track a quest

  • 1. Press M and dismiss the introductory bubble with Space.
  • 2. Use E for Quests. Select Against the Flow, whose early objective points upstream, and confirm Track.
  • 3. Check that Untrack is offered. Return with Esc; hold V for Mind's Eye to see the objective marker and distance.

Hidden routes and common mistakes

The map does not supply a continuous route. When the early objective is above a rock face, use Mind's Eye to check elevation. Find the white scratches, approach until the climb prompt appears, then press Space.

Highlighting a quest without tracking it, or ignoring its height, can send you looking in the wrong direction. Not every wall is climbable.

FAQ

  • M does nothing? Check that the map tutorial has appeared, then check your current binding and on-screen prompts.
  • No road on the map? Inspect the terrain and climb prompts.
  • Cancel tracking? Select Untrack on that quest's screen.
